I had my one month old K5ii stolen on Saturday. It is in a black camera bag with a Pentax 50-135mm f2.8, a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, Tamron 10-24mm, Pentax 50mm f1.4 and various other bits and bats.

Stolen from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

If anyone sees anything suspicious I would be grateful for any info.

Sad to hear that, I hope you have the serials as otherwise it's almost impossible to detect if the equipment is yours or not as those do come up for sale occasionally.

I'm sorry to hear this - it's an awful feeling as well as a significant financial loss. I lost my Olympus equipment in 2011 when someone broke into my car and forced the rear seat to get access to the boot. I was away from the car 15 minutes and only left the kit in the boot as it was raining hard. I did not put the kit into the boot at the parking spot it was there from when I left home. My car insurance was limited to £200 with a £100 excess so little point in claiming. I'm now with a home insurance that covers my camera out of the house.

Sadly I don't think it is as easy as checking Gumtree. The police - when they finally came 30 hours later told me that it would probably be sold by hand in a pub. She told me that the criminals are well aware that the police check Gumtree etc.

I don't know if you could use this to see if it turns up.

Best of luck with your search.

I've removed your phone number, it's not a good idea to post it on a public forum, members can PM you.

I know this may be closing the stable door etc., but there is a Web Site for listing your precious goods, not only cameras, www.immobilise.com. I have all my cameras and lenses, bicycle etc., listed on there with serial numbers and images of the item. Can save a lot of hassle when looking up serial numbers of things gone missing and there is a section for reporting stolen goods.

I assume you've also emailed camera dealers in your area with the serial number. Outlets like CashConverters as well.
