If you play the video with VLC it has the facility to take a frame grab.
It's really simple: Menu option 'Video' > 'Take Snapshot'.
It can also be done in camera, e.g. with a K-3, play the movie, pause, and press AE-L (check the manual.)

The K-r camera manual says it requires pressing the INFO button rather than the AE-L, otherwise much the same.
Have you not got a manual? If not it can be downloaded from Ricoh's Pentax pages. Direct link here. I've saved a full set, one never knows when some obscure detail might be required!

As above, many video players will let you save a single frame export from a video.
A few things to consider though:
It will be low resolution compared to a normal picture.
It will be lower quality also.
It may have motion blur too, as this is acceptable and almost desiresble in video, but not so often wanted in stills.

That's the problem I've encountered, it compromised the quality by lowering the resolution.
