new pentax 11/18 lens

so pentax are bringing out the new lenses for the full frame but have decided to use the self disstuct moter they had in the 17/70 lens would you think they would have thought about that first and probably sorted out the people that have got the 17/70 first and said sorry folks we made a great lens but screwed up with the moter

As I understand the new lenses will have a new design of motor.

it had better be for the price they will be charging with more than a 2 year warrenty lol

Maybe the second PLM?

My understanding is its a new 'ring' motor and NOT the old SDM design or the recent excellent PLM. The latter only works with lightweight rear focus elements as the floating one in the 55 300 PLM. Ricoh have said this will not work on heavier fast glass.
