On the Sat 19th and Sun 20th of this month the East Lancs railway at Bury are putting on their 'Winter Steam Gala'.link

This year sees Rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacific locomotive no 34046 Braunton and hopefully LNER K1 62005 (tbc) as well as other locos.

I shall be heading over there along with john (weather permitting) and hopefully one or two other forum members.

As usual all are welcome to join us for a good days photography and a brew in the Buffet.(and a bacon butty if you fancy)

Cliff.

One from last October.

You're privileged to se "Braunton", Cliff. It's based down here and never runs on the WSR!
Best wishes,

Andrew

Privileged indeed Andrew, apparently she has been at Bury for overhaul and should be heading back to you quite soon if all goes well! and certainly not until I have photographed her.

I may show up Cliff - it would be nice to meet up again, problem is I don't visit the steam engines 4 miles down the road in Llangollen so a 140ish mile round trip may be hard to justify

I will wait until nearer the time and make a decision

Just as a thought guys, it will be better if we leave the decision as to what day we go until midweek next week just so we can pick the best day weather wise!.

Seems like a good idea to check out the weather forcast. Barrie and I talked about it at the camera club last night and we are both available Saturday or Sunday.

So, weather permitting, who's coming along? I'm there no matter what the weather's doing. I'll be setting off from Rawtenstall and traveling in on the train if anyone's near by and fancy's a mooch.

I was toying with the idea of Burrs park for the early morning run past, you have to make a ten quid donation though!.

Weather wise, providing there is no heavy snow fall! there should be five members attending, dont know if Steve (sportyman531) will join us on Bolton St station or not!......hope so.

I've only been to one meet, in Glasgow, but there were Canikon users present, one an active member of this forum, the other the spouse of an active member here.
We didn't grab them by the throat, nor even make them buy lunch.
