That's supposed to work, you tell them your Pentaxuser id when ordering and they are supposed to knock the postage cost off the amount to pay, but don't expect it to happen, because it didn't to me when I used them! I phoned and told them and they said they would refund me, I'm still waiting!!

Yes that's how it worked for me in 2009, place the order , pay them for the item , give the delivery address , tell them you are a pentaxuser ,and Bobs your uncle free postage.... But at that time only to a UK address ,in my case my daughter in London.... I think now they will send stuff to Europe but I don't know if it's the same deal ... Jeff

That is what I did earlier this year with no problems.

My recent purchase went without a hitch, just asked for my user id.
I was bemused at the rigmarole though, as the advert said "qualifies for free delivery" - presumeably fo any "Joe Soap"
At the same time Jacobs and others were also "giving away" free delivery

I ordered my K-5 and Sigma 150-500mm OK online. Just type in the Notes box that your a PU member and give your user name.
It does ask later about how you heard of SRS and has an option for PU member along with name.
They did last year charge the postage on a lens, but when it arrived it had been knocked off the bill.

Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff

I wouldn't restrict them to Royal Mail. When they sent the Sigma 150-500mm it was really well packaged in a massive solid brown cardboard box and it would have been too big for RM. A lot of dealers would have just put the Sigma box in a black plastic bag and sent it like that and it would have no doubt got damaged.

Thanks for all the advice, I'll be ordering around the 9th probably by phone, just a lens case for the DA*16-50 so no big deal unless I can find a used one beforehand. I just find £27 a little OTT for a lens case
it's the only lens I don't have a case for

I did it last week, online, and it works fine.
The only confusing thing is that you need to type in your user id on the page before the one that asks you to select the pentax user discount. The order process is; fill out some details, next, fill out more details, next, etc...
k5, 50mm FA, 18-55mm Kit, 50-200mm DA, 15mm Fisheye Sigma, 10-17mm DA Fisheye, 18-55mm DA WR, DA* 60-250, DA* 16-50

Pentax accessory prices are, unfortunately, comical these days. See for example the M42 adapter. For some bizarre reason Pentax think people will pay £60 for it

General Pentax accessory prices seem to be proportionate to what they are. A look through the SRS website will summarise the general situation. The M42 adapter costs what it does because that's where the manufacturing costs pitch it. Someone will have applied x% to the costings just like every other accessory.
It's still the best M42 adapter and in line with other manufacturers who provide one for their own systems. Cheaper than some.
Best regards, John

Can someone advise how to claim free postage on orders from SRS please? Do I need a Pentax User + membership?
TIA,
John
