Spotmatic Flash Recommendations
I've had very good results with a flash similar to eBay # 7562484069. These "computerized" units can be hot-shoe mounted on your SPII or (better yet) attached via cable to your X contact and a flash bracket (a little harder to find but worth the search). Using the bracket will ensure that the flash is not in line with the lens - eliminating redeye and producing a little shadow to give your shots a little more depth.
You'll be able to calculate your f stop at 1/60sec using guide wheels on the flash when set to your film's ASA, and measuring the subject-to-film plane distance. You can also set your lens to a perscribed f stop (ie: f 4) and the flash to one of its "auto" modes - allowing you to shoot within a range (ie: 3 to 16 feet) or (3 to 23 feet).
If your flash doesn't come with instructions, PM me and we'll figure it out.
Happy snappin!
