I've just received a new tripod head and this was in the box along with the usual screws, bushes, etc.

Any body have any idea what it is for? Even with my engineering background I can not get it to fit anywhere.

I have something similar from a swiss army knife. On that it was a screwdriver.

Hiya, Its a tool to use to adjust the tripod. Offer it up to the nuts and screws on the tripod and see if it fits anything.
I expect you all ready knew this, Just wanted to see if you catch someone.

Regards Bob.

I did wonder that, to convert Gitzso to Giottos to Manfrotto or something. But it's not like any fitting I'm used to.

If only. It's no match with either Calumet, Benro or Giottos. Plus a Manfrotto monopod
