Saw this while searching for something else on the net. Don't know if it is still available but if you are interested it might be worth a try.
The link is to the advert.

Sigma 100-300mm F4 APO DG Pentax AF fit
I bought this lens before I changed camera systems and am now looking to sell it. It has never been used or even mounted on a body and as such is completely new. This will come with the box, lens hood, lens case and all original paperwork. They are excellent professional lenses for sports and wildlife use due to their long focal length and a constant large F4 aperture. I would imagine that most people reading this advertisement will already be familiar with the lens in question, which typically retails for around 1,100 in the UK. I am open to offers for the lens as long as they're reasonable. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions. Thankyou.

Link shows advert is archived.

What camera system have you changed to? I thought you were still a Pentax user.

Can you actually believe that bit? even if you dont intend to use a new lens straight away how many people wouldn't attach it to a body and have a quick play

It is possible. I've bought kit lenses with a body and just sold them on eBay without opening them at all. All things are possible, however unlikely they may seem.

I also can believe it to be very possible. Am right in the middle of one similar situation and wanting to sell a lens that I haven't even attached to the body. All I did was open the box, well in this case several, to make sure there was a lens inside and check the full condition of it and then just close it back.
