....or the sort of job you'd have a big queue for? you can have keys cut, shoes repaired, and watch batteries changed while you wait, and every one of those is likely to take just as long yet also have people queuing.
Truth is they probably dont want you to see how easy it is so you'll come back time and again, and who can blame them really

I think it's because the work is done sub contract and not in the shop.

Cleaning a sensor is childs pay if you have the right tools. I've no idea what these people charge but I would bet return on investment in the tools (Rocket blower, Arctic Butterfly, Pec-Pads + Eclipse-2 fluid) is very fast.
Get the tools and do it yourself, just be careful.

Above is a link to a site who do sensor cleaning they only charge £10 and your camera is ready to pick up same day.
