Mike - Having followed that link they rabbit on about it fitting a K7??
So will it fit a K5? And is this the only source?
The body is exactly the same (apart from the knob) so I see no reason it shouldn't fit.

It is the only source that I know of .. I have bought a few from him previously (K10D, K20D, K-7) and they all came within a couple of weeks. Its the only one I know of that includes a top LCD protector.

Thanks Mike - I think I will get one (after yours has arrived)

just proves dxo are duff, that shows the d7000 has better iso than the k5, which from what i have seen the k5 is atleast one stop better.

The strangest thing is that the D7000 and the K5 use the same sensor, there can never be so much difference in it if they are RAW files.

seems to be more to noise than just the sensor... there are a lot of other electronics under the hood as well...
that is sorta like thinking the speakers are all that matters when producing sound...

its like the nikon d40 and k100d super same sensor, but the pentax is better, all comes down to how its tuned, nikon cant tune it to well as they want to stick it in the new d300(when it comes out then it will be better than the d7000.

Whit CMOS chips most of the hardware needed is already baked into the chip, the output of CMOS is therefore also digital and not analogue like CCD. That's why I doubt there can be such a huge difference.

built in redundancy to not compete with it's own line-up is plausible..... so maybe won't is better word than can't...

not exactly... the silliest things can cause trouble... could be any number of things, from the individual electronic components, to the soldering to the design....

like i said nikon will bring out a new d300 with the same sensor (same if not slightly better iso than the k5) with there new metering 2,016-pixel RGB system, up the weather sealing and make it fire 10fps
and put a price of £1500 body only.
