I totally agree, Mike Browne's videos are excellent, it's like being on a 'one to one' shoot with him

I know its not really a "dslr for beginners" type book, but "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson is an excellent book on, err, understanding exposure!
Stick with it....it will be worth it.
