These are highly regarded lenses and a nice mint condition example could reach anything that anyone will pay. Could be £40, could be £90, could be more, depending on the mood of the buyers at the time and how much competition there is.

I have ten ebay sales of that lens in my database ranging from £36 to £77, averaging at £56.

It's worth a bid, but the likelihood of winning is remote unless anyone wants to bid far more than I will be doing...
I'm also tempted by the 100mm f2.8 lenses on offer, but then I always am. Why can't I resist?

The 40 is worth a bid but it'll go up quite a bit before the end, no doubt. I keep looking at SMC-M 85mm F2s but they really do go for a tidy sum. 
I have to resist, I've spent several months allowance in the last week or two!

Bit of a cheek selling the 75-205 matched multiplier with the 40mm lens as if they go together...
But then you might pick up the 40mm and then can junk/pass on/sell the multiplier.
