I'm afraid it still came up with the error message but then if I refreshed the page the image can uploaded OK other times I have to start again. Theres something strange going on with my photos on Pentax Gallery, hours after an upload fails it can appear in the gallery but broken/incomplete.

I am, (seriously), no expert in this kind of thing but some time ago I found myself with a similar uploading problem. Sometimes a similar message. Sometimes not. It wasn't consistent which was a real pain in the rear end. I cleared the browser cache on my (iMac) computer and it worked perfectly afterwards. It could be that(?)
Be well, stay safe, but most of all, invest in memories

Uploading errors yes I've had a few but never bothered me much as I would just log out and start again, probably server issues but it could be worse, it could be from a more nefarious source, the government perhaps of Klaus spies intercepting the coded subliminal messaging from certain photographs

Hi,
It's a difficult one for us to debug unless it's continuous, is it still happening for you, even intermittently?
It could have been a blip at that moment in time, may be the site certificate playing up, or lost internet connection, something like that.
If it's still happening (I've tested an upload) can you put a report in and I'll get hold of you via email to try and help debug the issue.
Cheers,
Rick

Hello Rick I just tried a 6.6mb image upload but it timed out again the message this time is "Request Timeout This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'." If it behaves as previous times the image may appear in the gallery in a while but probably only part of it. I will report it if it continues when I have some time to spare.

Hi David,
I've just checked the max execution time of the scripts/uploads on site and it was set at 2 mins, do you think you're uploads were breaching that time?
I've now extended it to 5 mins.
I've just tested uploading again using a 7MB file which took 10 seconds, however I do have an broadband upload rating of 26MBPS.
The first step I'd take is to test your upload speed using this site:
https://www.speedtest.net
Not sure whether you're in a rural location, but I'd expect uploads speeds of modern broadband to be above 2MBPS, the slower the speed, the longer it takes to upload.
Once you've got a rating of your upload speed, if it seems low, sometimes a simple reboot of your router can sort things out, but other things I'd consider too, is if you're using WiFi, retest with your device closer to the router's signal. Another thing to check is if anything else in you home is using up all your bandwidth, for example Smart TV or cameras.
If you can let me know your upload rating, that might help with resolving this.
Cheers,
Rick

Hi Rick Yes my upload speed just now is 18.65mbps so that seems normal for my set up. I tried another upload tonight and it timed out with an error again and I'm pretty sure that was probably only a minute, but far longer than my normal. My uploads would be uploaded in seconds and I dont remember ever having errors until recently. When it failed tonight only one PC was using any wifi. In the past 2 PC's and a couple of phones could be using the internet and I still I had no issues. Also I can upload the same photos to Flickr without a problem. Just uploaded the same 5.6mb photo to Flickr and it had uploaded in probably less than 10 seconds maybe even 5 seconds

Hi David,
Yeah the results of the speed test rule that train of thought out, but sounds like something is still throttling the uploads, with the speeds you have and as you've suggested most files should be uploaded under 10 seconds.
I'm clutching as straws really without seeing it first hand, the certificate bit is strange, if you view the certificate by clicking the padlock in the address bar, is there any error messages on there? You can also clear any cookies specific to Pentax User while there too (know you've said you've tried this), just to rule out if one has become corrupt.
Other things to try would be to disable any antivirus software you have running for a few minutes to see if that's the cause, same if you have any Adblocking systems in place, since they can interfere with the uploading scripts.
Cheers,
Rick

Hi Rick. I'm still struggling with Pentax Gallery Ive cleard the Pentax User cache three times now but to no avail. Today uploading images I encounter the "Secure Connection Failed error however if I click try again it will have uploaded one copy of the image partially and I presume on clicking try again another copy of the image that is OK. I'm deleting the inclomplete images as I go. Ive kept screen grabs of tonights issue as a PDF if you need to see it including the details of the problem when the padlock is clicked on.

Error message the moment I click upload "Secure Connection Failed, An error occurred during a connection to www.pentaxuser.com. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem"
Slow upload that time outs.
A few minutes after some failed uploads I may find part of the image is showing in gallery.
I have tried clearing the browsers Cache, I tried browsers Google Chrome and Firefox with same results.
Any thoughts
