Sigma Ring flash compatability

I have been trying out my new Sigma Ring flash EM-140DG P-ttl Fitted to my K20 and then my K200 cameras and found it under exposing very badly.
I phoned SRS and talked to Nicky about it, she gave me the number for Sigma.
Guess what, the first batch that came out will only work properly on the K10’s not the later K200 or K20?
So if you have one of these working on a K10 and maybe want to use it on a K20 later contact Sigma for a re-chip, this is free.
I am told all the flashes after the price rise are now ok.
Ps. why do I always get the Duff one?

I thought at first that maybe it was a mind thing that you always get sent faulty goods but I'm beginning to think differently now .. someone certainly seems to have it in for you

Unfortunately, this is very typical for Sigma and their flashes. It's the main reason I didn't go with their ring flash and now have the AF160FC in my grubby mitts

Ok don't rub it in, I have a limited budget and buy what i can afford, We pensioners do not have unlimited funds.
And remember it’s not what you have got, it is what you do with it that counts.

My apologies I do agree that the Sigma is the best value for money macro flash and would probably have got it if the Pentax hadn't got theirs out before Spring.

Mike can I have your Avatar after you have finished with it, That is just like me hitting my head against a brick wall.
And to top it all one of my wheel bearings on my car has decided to start making nasty noises.
I think I will just go out and shoot myself, well I would if I had a gun. No offers thank you.

Personally as its sold as being P-TTL compatible and Sigma say it works with K20D (see Sigma Web Site) but its does not work correctly with the top P-TTL cameras I would want either Sigma or SRS to change it for one that works properly. I think the one you have is simply not fit for purpose.

Good luck
Bob

Chris at SRS, the very nice man, Is going to change it for one that is from a new batch, it has been sent back and on it's way.
Sigma will refund the postage to me, so it is just an inconvenience for me.
All the new ones will work with any Pentax that has P-TTL.
The post was to let people know if using the flash on A Pentax K10 and wanted to upgrade at a later date to the K20/200 and I should imagine the Samsung GX10 to the GX20.
They can get a re-chip done at no charge from Sigma.
Personaly I think Sigma should have checked this before releasing them.
They cocked up on the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 HSM mk11, it should have worked with the sigma 1.4ex dg TC in auto focus, but it does not and they have removed the bit that says it does.
SRS are still the best there is for customer service as far as i am concerned.
I am just unlucky, thats why I dont do the lottery any more, they dont give anything for no numbers.

Glad that you got it settled easily.

SRS have come up trumps again, and have given you the same good service that I always get from them.

Good luck

If I remember correctly the daily play lets you have a free go is you get no numbers.
You could be playing for years
