Hi there - I know this is going to sounds stupid but I can't seem to use the macro switch on my Sigma DG lense - when I select the macro switch after zooming in I don't seem to get any more magnifiction - what am I doing wrong?
Everything is possible - just not today.

I think the macro switch slightly reduces the minimum focussing distance, so you can get treater magnification by physically getting closer to the subject and still being able to focus. Obviously if you have a subject in focus and then flick the switch to macro, it will make no difference to the image, but you should be able to move in closer and get a focussed shot... I think (someone here will correct if I am wrong:wink

that didn't take long - worked a treat - got in so close, now I need something worth photographing to use it on. Thanks again

The reason for the switch is that when it is on you can only use so much of the zoom range (I would be specific but it is hard to know without knowing exactly which lens you have).

You will have to take it off to use the full range.
