Sigma 50-500 mount repair/replacement

Posted 26/11/2019 - 11:19 Link
Lens: Sigma 50-500mm 1:4-6.3 APO DG - non OS version

My favourite lens ever - it lives on my K30

BUT - the mount on my Bigma needs replacing - it's worn out through old age and usage and occasionally loses connection to the camera so no AF or AE

Sigma no longer have spares (and are not interested in Pentax any more anyway).
Does anyone know where I could try to get it fixed ?

Any hints/comments/leads appreciated
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I have just come across this firm https://www.1staidrepairs.co.uk/SLRLenses.aspx I have no experience with them but the testimonials (assuming they are true) seem to be ok

I wonder if the mount from another (probably "broken, selling for spares") Sigma HSM lens might fit?
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

If I remember correctly the non OS version of the 50-500mm in Pentax mount was not HSM so a mount from any broken screw drive Sigma lens in K mount may do the job.
