Shot last night, K5 + Sigma 150-500mm lens, tripod mounted. There seems to be a strange outer ring around the moon ? ? ?. Possibly induced in PP (Topaz), but I blame the Americans.

Is the moon developing an atmosphere?

Outer ring is normally caused by oversharpening, have noticed it a few timkes on my moon shots when I get a little heavy handed.

You're probably right Mike. I think I ran this one through Topaz, which may account for it.

seems soft to me, i would say there was movement.

Good call pentaxanne.

I just had a closer look at the originals to find that some have this ring, but most don't.

A slight movement seems to have been the culprit.
