should i sold my bigmos?
If you think it's too much hassle (or you won't need it) in Canada then sell it , add it to the kitty, and get the *60-250.

Shooting the Welsh Wilderness with K-m, KX, MX, ME Super and assorted lenses.
The later two are top of the range zoom lenses so quite an improvement over what you've now but they would stretch your budget though...
It is lightweight and the image quality is good. Noisy focusing is it's only issue.
I also own the Sigma 150-500 and do use it for dedicated wildlife photography. However, for a good walkabout lens the Pentax 55-300 is excellent. It is also good for near-to wildlife.
The Sigma 100-300 f4 that Stefan has mentioned is top class, but it is no longer available new and very rare secondhand.
The Pentax 60-250 is over £1000.
A review by John Riley of the Pentax 55-300 has just been posted on the Pentax User and Ephotozine sites. It also shows actual sample shots.

My experience of the 150-500mm is that you really do need a tripod to get the best results as it's just too big otherwise! Works very well on my Red Snapper ball head though.
but if you've more money the Sigma 100-300 is also very nice
Cost £350 2nd hand pristine. highly recommended. I'll be posting more pics using it in the photos forum soon

Used the 150-500 both with and without a monopod - with is definately preferable at the long end. SR helps but I would suggest best not to rely on it beyond 2 stops unless needs must.

found it in ebay , amazing
I bought the 150-500mm in 2010 when the price was supposed to be going up. It didn't, instead the price went down by a significant amount. It is still in its unopened box in UK waiting for my return in June.
I sincerely hope it is as good as users claim it to be.
