Hi MM. The car parks are vast and have never filled up in the 15 years I have been going. I'm aiming to be about two thirds of the way down the runway to catch things as they lift off.

Fingers crossed for '558

I don't wish to be the bearer of bad news, but didn't I read somewhere that the Vulcan isn't scheduled to fly again until August 20th at Bournemouth?

I hope I'm wrong...

If the Vulcan is flying at the Shoreham airshow, it certainly won't be taking off or landing there. The runway isn't anywhere near long enough.

Hi Tooks - 20th Aug - Dawlish, 22/23 Aug Shoreham and Bournemouth all confirmed.

Last year she had a lot of teething problems and only made 50% of her commitment. This year she has managed 5 out of 6.

Chris - unfortunately you are right, but that may mean they can use the saved fatigue life to sharpen the display up. Apparently it is better this year.

My first proper airshow, wondering if I should chance the Bigma or take the DA* 60-250mm.

Just hope the AF on my K10D can keep up.

Ah, excellent news!

I'm tempted by a day at the Bournemouth show actually, I attended the recent RAF Cottesmore friends and families day, and really enjoyed taking pictures of both statics and the flying.

Your 60-250 sounds just the job for general pics at the show Mike, 300mm for me was almost too long for the bigger stuff , although it depends how far from the display line you'll be? The Cottesmore show was very small in comparison.

I think everything is pretty close as its all over the pier so maybe the Bigma is a bad idea but with a bit of creative packing I can get both lenses in the bag if I leave the K10D at home.

Pity nothing more was mentioned by Chris about lending the demo K-7 out to other prospective buyers for a few days as this would have been the ideal time to test the speedier AF imo .. and would maybe have made my purchase decision a little easier.

Was only announced on Friday (in the local paper) so maybe they haven't updated the web site yet.

Or maybe the local paper is wrong ....

Nothing on either PPrune or UKAR. I have asked the question and will let you know if there is any news.

One point though. Please don't forget to help them fill their buckets. No funds = no Vulcan next year.

Mike - It seems that she may do a flyby at Bournemouth en route to Dawlish on Thursday 20th. HTH.
