Sensor cleaning?

Strange one,

I've got what looks like a dust spot on the sensor. It's not on the lens ive thoroughly cleaned it and tried it with another lens and i get the same spot in same position.I did a dust check "picture" but it shows completley clean!? Then sensor shake cleaning several times but its still the same.

Now what? mirror up cleaning with lenspen? Some advice would be appreciated many thanks

Can you clarify. Is this spot visible on actual photographs or only when you look through the viewfinder.

If it's on the sensor you won't see it through the viewfinder - if you can see it through the viewfinder it will be on the mirror or the focussing screen.

What camera is it Dan?

Whatever you do do not use a lens pen on your sensor .

Invest in an Arctic Butterfly or swabs for sensor cleaning.

+1 for Arctic Butterfly in 4 years with a K10D only once have I done a wet clean thanks to mine.

I am a butterfly enthusiast as well, but only for dry dust. It will simply smear grease.

How do you get grease on the sensor?

I accidentally got some saliva on my sensor because I was talking to someone while cleaning it. I shall not make that mistake again, damn 's' sound!

Wet swabs here.

Intersetingly ( and probably tempting fate ) but I haven't had toclean my K-5s sensor at all despite changing lenses in all manner of dirty environments. K20D OTOH was always gettign crap on it the sensor

I confess I send mine off to be cleaned works out the same as buying the swabs and Im not confident enough to attempt it.

Dont use the lenspen on the sensor though!!!! lens (its in the name )

Well to clarify its definately on the sensor (I dont understand though how it DOESENT show up in the dust alert picture). It shows up in my pics. And there is also stubborn dust on the mirror! I'm going to try a hairdryer on cold to see if i can blow it out.....wish me luck
