Reading up on this subject as it is time for me to clean the sensor. Blowing is not enough - it is just to dirty atm.

So - anyone used eclipse (or similar) products. Could someone post a link to a good supplier???
I have never used Eclipse but if you have a K10D or later you must make sure you buy the right fluid, as the original one can damage the sensor.
Also I believe you are not allowed to fly with Eclipse fluid. I am a Acrtic Butterfly user myself. I am very happy with it and making good use of it here in the dusty SW USA.

Nimitz,
The list of suppliers is here: http://www.photosol.com/world_dealers.htm

In the UK you can get E2 from Camera Clean.

Though I haven't bought any yet.

Bring me up to speed - why aren't you using a brush of some form?

I've been trying to get a copperhill brush without paying high shipping costs.

How close to the sensor are you getting the nozzle of the blower?

I've found on a few occasions that a dust spot has been a bit stickier than most, but I've managed to shift it by getting the nozzle to within a centimeter or so of the sensor.

Of course, this requires extreme care, since it's very difficult to give the bulb a good hard squeeze without the nozzle jerking a bit, with the risk of nasty consequences.

I've worked out a way of holding it that effectively braces the barrel of the nozzle against the edge of the chamber, which stops most of the movement.

So I can give it a good hard puff at close range - never failed to shift yet.

A bit scary though.

Thanks a lot all.

I will order it from cameraclean. Haven't been able to find a decent supplier in Denmark.

I think it is not dust - but pollen (is that the right word ? those sticky flower things). I tried to blow very close but have not used a brush. I don't have one. I might need one then.

If my memory is correct it happend after a macro day in the fields.....where I changed my macro for the zoom.
