Yeah... fraud stopping measures... Like not allowing a student an account without £5000. You know who has £5000 to open an account? Ppl looking to launder money.
Sorry for the rant, but these kind of measures (and some antiterror ones) just get on my nerves.
Anyway, a contract mobile should work just fine since oyu do go through a credit check and whatnot.

Not all Mobile numbers are credit checked i think. Can't you still buy a pay as you go without any link to you at all?

Wthether it should or it shouldn't you end up with the same problem.
Perhaps a friend or relative where you can take the code? You might run into problems when they try to verify your account though, because the phone number and the address won't match.
Why not ask eBay what the solution is. You can e-mail or phone them.

I could put the Uni's address, but that isn't the same as the VISA...
I don't have any friend with ebay account
I'm gonna contact ebay.

I've done loads of eBaying and eBay have never phoned me. After the initial one, your office would only get a call if you did something unusual.
Keep things as "usual" as possible by using the same computer or modem each time to do any eBaying. That includes logging in and browsing.

I could use my office's landline to get the code. But will I get regular calls from ebay? Do I have to have the landline permanently.
I understand the measure, but my contract mobile should work just as well, but doesn't
Any ideas?
