Hi All,

This is my first real play with this lens and I love the shapness but cant help thinking I can get a better DoF with the older manual smc 50 macro and extention. Maybe its because I have had it for longer and more comfortable/ used to using it.

Anyway C&Cs welcome

Some prawn tails, I really liked the colours in this one

A small lizard thingy, You can really see the shallow DoF in this on

The lizard shot is fantastic, I love the shallow depth of field in that image.

What aperture did you use for the lizard, Paul? I agree with Greytop, the shallow DOF does something for the image.

The lizard shot is very good. You must have been using this lens virtually wide open to get such shallow depth of field. Isn't it sharp, though?

Thanks guys,

Yes the lens was fully open at f2.8 and fully extended (focus wise) 1/125 with the samsung SEF36PZF and my plastic milk container & tinfoil diffuser

It is a lovely sharp lens though.
