Remote Control's and Cable Switches

Hi, I just bough one of these (JJC Cable Remote). I can't seem to get it to work. I plugged it in (to my Samsung GX10), and when I press the button it seems to activate the autofocus, but I can't get it to release the shutter.
Am I missing something (i.e. a setting in the camera I need to activate), or have I got a faulty one?

I have one of these. It should work in a similar way to the shutter button.
Press it halfway and then fully to take the photo.
The camera should recognise it automatically (at least my K10/K20 do).

Thanks Hyram, it looks like I got a faulty one. I'll have to send it back!

I received my remote cable today it also does not work. It only activates AF on first press will not fire the shutter when engaged fully or in bulb mode. Looking at the quality of this product alongside other branded makes is naff. I suppose you get what you pay for, however I would expect the thing to work. From my experience I do not think that ePhotozine should advertise this product on this Forum.

Hey, I'm sorry that a couple of people have had bad experiences with the cable switches - we've sold 96 of the cable switches and 116 of the remotes and there have been very few complaints and if there has been, a refund/exchange has been given. We like to think that people can buy with confidence from us.
