I'm not sure but I don't see why not. You may be able to download the lastest version from the Pentax website.
I know they discontinued Remote assisant compatibility with the K7 for some reason.

I haven't tried the later versions with my DL2, but Pentax deffinitly put more effort into limiting which cameras work with RA as time went on.
If you want to keep using RA, don't upgrade the firmware on your DL2, the firmware update which allows SDHC cards also disables RA compatibility.

Pentax Remote Assistant software V1.0 is designed for use with the *istD body. Use of this software with any other body is probably not supported, even though it may work.
The later version 3.5x may or may not work with your camera.

Yes, I can d/l the latest from the Pentax site, but I'm wondering if running it will have an adverse affect on my camera, computer or both....

That's that, then - I carried out the upgrade well over a year ago....I haven't tried the later versions with my DL2, but Pentax deffinitly put more effort into limiting which cameras work with RA as time went on.
