Rare Takumar Box Sold on Ebay

Someones just paid £73.50 for a really nice original Takumar Lens Box It did come with a FREE 35mm Lens

Probably the going rate - I've seen these lenses going for £40-£50 alone, add the case, strap, and the fact that it's all mint and boxed and I'm not entirely surprised.

It's a nice piece of kit, although best used outdoors as otherwise it's a bit dark in the viewfinder of the Spotmatic!

I did buy a 35mm f/3.5 new in the early 70's.... I can't remember the box looking like that though. It may not have even been the same lens, mine may have been SMC..... very good lens for trannies.

I did put a snipe on that for £36 but it was already well above that and never went on.

I've still got the mint original boxes off my MEF and 35-70mm f/2.8 AF Zoom maybe I'd better hang onto them

Well you could probably get a nice ME F to go in said box, the AF zoom might be trickier!

Really must get hold of a tidy but dead ME F to do some parts transplanting with my slightly scruffy working example.

Don't need I've still got them Just out of curiousity I've just dug them out... put batteries in and everything works OK, without any problems. The AF isn't all that slow either and for some reason knows which direction to go in, both are still in Exc+ condition, although this isn't the same MEF that came in the box, I've had about 3 of them.

I'd forgotten how good the Green in focus light was on the MEF, it's really very sensitive much better than the split screen which show it being in focus before the green light comes on.

I can't ever see me selling the lens or camera for that matter. The lens is very sharp even wide open and works well with the 1.7AF adapter. Nice to know that I've still got the complete kit.

My ME F has a scratched focus screen and dented baseplate, but everything lights up as it should including the focus confirmation lights. I'll probably have a play with it sometime this spring/summer after I get hold of a parts donor.
