You're confusing megapixels and megabytes. There is no 14mb on a K7 It's 14 megapixels and does not have any relation with the size of the file.
The filesize (your 2.1 MB) depends on the image; some images can be compressed very well (pure black and pure white giving the best compression), even with lossless compression.

What software are you using? Some types of image editing software will reduce the quality of the file on opening (if, for example, it has a 'save for web' type option).

Useing pisca and photoshop.

Thanks all of you.I went back and checked bearing in mind all your comments and went through the transfer process and stopped the compression and it went through better quality!
