What is the problem with my Pentax K-r? Advice please!

It sounds like an insurance claim to me, rather than a warranty claim, unless you have the type of warranty that covers accidental damage (as I do on my K-x). If it's had an impact, I wouldn't be surprised if a circuit board is cracked, or a solder joint has become loose, but it could be anything.

JPS are the people for the DSLRs, being the official Pentax repair house. But it sounds more like an insurance claim to me too.

I've got quite a complicated issue which i was hoping you could give advice on. In february my k-r sustained some sort of impact (i don't know how but it did) and i opened the camera bag to find the kit lens had broken off the camera. A few days later, the shutter starting going off whenever i pressed any of the camera buttons (including removing the sd card, somewhat humorously) and the viewfinder went fuzzy. I sent the camera and lens to Jessops, who quoted £240 just to fix the body, saying the mirror was broken. This was obviously extortionate so I sent the camera to Asahi photo, who also said the mirror was the problem. They fixed the lens fine (repairing the mount) and overhauled the mirror/viewfinder on the body. However, this did not amend the problem and after sending the camera body back 5 days ago, the technician at asahi photo still doesn't know exactly what the issue is, saying that it's probably an electrical fault. So sorry for this long post but does anyone know what the fault could be? Or whether I would be able to claim a new camera on warranty? I need the camera back by thursday next week so any advice would be great! Thank you so much.
