Promising start to garden butterfly project

Had to pinch myself when I saw this one, which was sufficiently obliging (lethargic?) to hang around long enough for me to grab my trusty K5 with attached SMC Pentax-DA* 50-135mm F2.8 ED and grab an image. For the non-lepidopterist, this specimen is, I'm 99.5% certain, a male tiffany butterfly (Imago vitrum), a rare migrant of which there only a handful of sightings in a typical year. I've been in touch with the Butterfly Conservation Organisation and the Natural History Museum and am now awaiting confirmation that my record has been officially recognised.

A brooch with inbuilt wi-fi.

I hope it stayed still for you

What a beautifully captured natural position shot - but I spotted what you were trying to conceal from us....

...those fake, plastic flowers don't fool me one little bit

Lord knows what we shall have produced between us by the close of the present crisis ! (nice brooch).

Perhaps not, but the AstroTurf sure did
