Creative journey or digital dead end?

Unearthed from the archives, an image of a work in cold cast bronze by the artist David Watkinson entitled 'Orchid', that was exhibited at the 2015 Fresh Air Sculpture Show. The sequence of images starts with the direct from camera (handheld K5 plus A 50mm f/1.4; 1/250 sec, f/2.5 and ISO 200) RAW file converted to JPEG, is followed by JPEG of the RAW file post-editing (LR 5.0 followed by PSE 12) from which two further digital derivatives were created. The entire process fulfilled the original aim of providing self-isolation occupation for a few hours, but was it time well spent from a more creative perspective? C & C welcome.

Yes it was! The edited (2nd version) makes the most of the original and is a good representation of the artists work. The one that interests me is the last one There you have taken the artists original work and made something new, and to me interesting, from it. Definitely a worthwhile exercise.

Really good...nice to see the creative process broken down stage by stage.

I enjoy doing this sort of thing myself and at the end you can produce a new 'original' substantially different from what you started with.

I like all four images...hard to choose a favourite...possibly the third.

Time well spent IMO Jon - like them all, but no.3 really stands out for me - perfect B&W tonal range with the colour highlights that complement (rather than destroy) the image.
