UK bag insert sellers

Does anyone know of (reasonably-priced) sources for (camera/lens holding) messenger bag inserts in the UK? Most of the camera bags I've looked at (to fit my recently expanded kit) are either as waterproof as rice paper or are backpacks. I was therefore hoping to just buy some messenger bag inserts and 'roll my own' so to speak. Catch is I can't find anywhere selling the damned things!

Brilliant, cheers! Now all I have to work out is which combination of these and the Domke ones (which Warehouse Express also sell at far-more-reasonable-than-Amazon prices) I'm going to go with.

I once built up a very neat messanger bag by buying a John Rochas "man bag" from Debenhams (around £15) and used two Billingham 9-18 superflex inserts.

K10D + 16-45, DA 5-300, FA 28-105, FA 35, FA 50 macro, Tamron 1.4x TC, Metz 54-MZ3 flash, releases, cards, batteries, cloths, blower and some junk!

One of our twin sons permanently "borrowed" the bag. I think I shall have to make up another one, it was beautifully inconspicious (and cheap!). I believe they now have the bags in both blue/grey and khaki finish.

Well worth a punt for such a small amount of money, the inserts cost more than the bag and I bought them direct from Billingham!

Luckily the inserts came in handy for my new Billingham 307 bag, but I have 1 left over and I may well get another bag from Debenhams and use it aa a general purpose man bag plus my K20D + 17-70 so I can have my camera with me pretty much all the time.

I do have a pretty good (Optio P70) P&S which I bought as a "always on me" camera, but I hardly ever use it, weird isn't it? But then, maybe I'm the weird one?

I bought an Ortlieb handlebar bag padded camera insert from ebay (£12) and found it fit perfectly inside a small 'army style' canvas haversack (£3.99 from Yeomans). Absolutely brilliant! Fits my K200d plus 16-45 and 4 manual lenses plus room for bits and bobs like filters, batteries and flash. The padded insert came with adjustable velcro dividers.

Mmmmm interesting..I have been thinking about fitting out the tank bag on my motorcycle and those inserts look the business...

If you've got an old 'karrimat' type camping mat and a roll of duck tape you can make 'custom' inserts. I did similar to Richard but with a bag from Primark - very cheap but the strap snapped - luckily when it was full of exam scripts. Fairly sure I've seen Richard's pictures on DPR(?) and nicked the idea

there's also some foam on PDM's site (German, I know, but I do speak the language) which looks very interesting indeed. Plastazote or Neopolen.... but it's not pre-cut.

Plastazote is an inert foam used by conservators for packing archaeological finds. You can buy it from conservation and museum retailers. Not cheap tho...
