Well spotted Chris, correct - I wondered if anyone would guess, expected it to be one of the BC tribe It was taken from the Lookout Building.

Thanks Lily. I enjoyed Vancouver very much too. I was there while visting my brother and sister-in-law who emigrated from the UK to Maple Ridge last year.

I'd be interested in comments on the sharpness of my pics above. Do they look too soft?

Generally I deliberately keep the amount of sharpening minimal as I like the natural look and don't like the cardboard-cutouty look of over-sharpened photos. But have I gone under-the-bottom, so to speak? Do you think I should apply at least a bit more sharpening? (I use Silkypix, and mostly RAW*).

Also I'm aware that the pictures look dark compared to many other people's here. I might do something about that some time.

* bottom picture here is JPG, rest RAW.

Theye only too dark if there are no/very few highlights
I would say they were fine - theres no point in trying to make an overcast sky look like one big blown out highlight anyway.

The last, although dark in places, is well composed and very nice.
