Picture not printed right

I took round a picture on a memory stick to my local printers with the intention of getting a photo to enter in a completion. It looked great on my pc screen and theirs, but when it was printed, there was a yellow cast. I politely asked for it to be redone, they said their computer had got confused. Collected it that afternoon and there is still a yellow cast on the picture. They said there is nothing they can do about it. Can anyone advise me please?

This is annoying as I missed the competition, as I was told I couldn't enter it due to it being a bit yellow

It sounds like you need your PC monitor calibrating.
I use a Spyder to calibrate mine.

Does the image look ok on another computer screen, you could try printing it on one of those self service machines in boots/tescos etc, see if you get the same result.

That makes no sense. Images are judged after submission, not before. Besides, the slight yellow cast may have been intentional.

It may be worth posting here to see if anyone on here can see a colour cast before adjusting monitor. As you say it seemed ok on the printers monitor its and yours, seems unlikley they arte both out by the same.

It was probably the type of printer they use that gave the yellow cast. Probably a dye-sublimation printer. I used one once in a shop and most things had a yellow cast.
Do you have a printer yourself? Or know someone with a printer who can print it for you?
Showing the photo on the forum will also help decide if it is your monitor or not, but given it looked right both at home and on the screen in the shop it is more likely to be the printer.

I always print at home I don't have a super printer but with half decent paper the results have so far been good at A4.
You can print good quality prints on a run of the mill printer these days as the feature requirement has risen even at entry level printers.
Mine is an HP 2510 cost 50 Euros...
Cheers,

Bruce

I don't have a printer and can't think of anyone who does

The colour cartridge's are very expensive.

You've been asked a few times to post the photo here, is there any reason you cannot?
Without seeing what you are seeing everything here is guess work.

Thanks Louise,
There is no yellow cast to that particular image.

However, this image does
