Its basically a summery of the somewhat more rational (but still entirely speculative) posts on the "Rumours" Forum at the Other Site, all written by one of the regular posters there!

Curse this antique of a PC at work (complete with IE 6 ...! and no spellchecker)

I'd argue that the capitalisation is fine as its Proper names.

Well, I haven't got a lot else to do, its a slow news day (literally...)

More usefully and on-topic, its amazing how close the rumoured spec of this projected "K5" is exactly the same as the "D95" rumours. Ok, same Sony sensor in both, but everything else...?

If that's the case, its going to be very messy for Pentax if they both come out with virtually identical (at a glance) cameras on the same day...

Where did the designation "K5" even come from ?

Certainly more than "a few days" to Photokina.

But for Stefan - Hall 2.2 is where you need to head when you go . Conveniently close to the bahnhof, though you will need to negotiate Canon first.

I think we will see a line up with more than 2 bodies.

Same 2 bodies we have plus one above & below the K-7.

Either way, will be interesting, hopefully some new lenses too (DA* 11-16 F2.8 would be nice!)

An interesting read. I have always believed that a Pentax FF SLR will be made, but I don't think anything on that subject will be announced by Hoya, this year.

The writer makes a very good point about Pentax and the P&S market. They should get out of it. Pentax have always been rubbish at compacts. It is a huge sector and Pentax have never made anything distinctive or desireable in that division. Just one of countless makes, fighting for a small share of the market. By abandoning that market, they could concentrate resources on more profitable areas, like SLR and interchangeable lens compacts.
No man is worth his salt, who has not been banned from at least one Forum, and two Flickr groups.

Or they could just make BETTER compacts! The last few seemed a bit better but don't really look like a coordinated range. Three completely different looking cameras, but with very similar spec (apart from waterproofing).

Talking of waterproofing, I think the idea of a waterproof interchangeable lens evil camera with hd video is great! Especially if there's a k-mount adapter for it

And make it so you can change lenses under water
