Pentax Spotters Thread

Here's a thread for those of us who have spotted a Pentax camera or lens out in the wild!

To kick things off - I spotted someone at Chester Zoo with a pretty cool combination of a KP and the F*300 on a monopod.

Rare animals? Not so interesting.

Rare lenses? Yes please!

A couple of weeks ago at a wildlife park called Faunia in Madrid I spotted a couple using a Pentax DSLR - a K30, K50 or K70 I think.

The previous time was in Valencia a few months back when I was surprised to see someone with a K-1 and (I think) the 24-70mm f/2.8.

Pentax users are very few and far between in Spain, even more so than in the UK.

that lens hood is the sexiest lens accessory ever. Round ones are so boring!

I did come across a pair of photographers at the trackside at the 2021 Goodwood Revival using Pentax. I was going to have a conversation with them before I remembered I wasn't using my K-1 that day. I do see plenty of Pentax gear, even a 67.

A KAF Sigma 10-20 f4 f4-5.6 lens in the window of my local photographic shop this morning, with other Sigma lenses for other mounts. Most of the window was taken up with higher margin items such as picture frames and photographic accessories. But at least the shop is still there. And while they don't keep many cameras and lenses in stock, they will often have a Pentax or two.
