I sent my lens to them late November. I had a quote, accepted it, then was told the cost would be more, accepted that, and am still waiting... The lens went to Germany I believe!

In this case I am just glad the lens is repairable at all.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I`m not overly impressed with JP. I had to ring them to check if they had received my W80. When I sent a Sony Handycam for repair Sony sent a receipt by return. All part of customer service.

I've just returned my K-x for repair (autofocus problems), so everything is crossed.

I used to have a Fuji P&S. The bad news was that it failed 4 times in the first year (4 different faults). The good news? Fuji repaired it and posted it back within the week each time.

Just had a call from SRS to say the camera has been adjusted and is ready for collection.

Now that is impressive- only a week's turnaround.

If the camera works properly now, that will be a bonus!

My 50-135 went back with 'sticky SDM' via SRS took around 2 weeks.

Was working when picked up , tried it 4 weeks later, no SDM at all, just gone back again.

Whilst the turn around was perfectly fine for me, the fact it obviously wasn't fixed, isn't.

Lets hope it's fixed this time!

I had to send my k20D of for repair (to fix the lock/spring mechanism in the memory card slot) and was wondering how long its taken other folks to get their cameras repaired by Pentax and as I went to post this thread came up. The nice chaps at SRS said anywhere between 1 week and 3 months, but averaging 2 to 3 weeks so hopefully it won't be sent to germany and take months!

Also is their anyway of tracking my repair processes? Or am I going to waiting for a call with no idea when it will come!?

I am glad to say I have got my DA* 50-135mm back and it looks perfect. The images are looking pretty good too so far. As I thought it was never going to work again when I sent it off to them, I am pretty pleased.

Well I just wanted to blow the trumped for Johnson Photopia, I finally pulled my finger out and sent my K10D away and have the shake reduction switch replaced. It was posted on Tuesday, returned by Friday, and it only cost me £47 including postage.

Average Pentax warranty repair time strongly depends on where you live on Earth. Pentax is repaired in England locally, so the average repair time is acceptable there (IMHO). But there are no Pentax repair facilities in most of the countries of the world which means the local Pentax dealer should send the faulty camera/lens to another country. In Hungary the average Pentax repair time is 6 weeks, my latest experience was 8 weeks, because everything should be sent to Germany for repair. Contrary, C is repaired locally, the normal service period is 2 to 5 days (plus delivery time). Sometimes no easy to understand how C sells 10 times more photo gears than Pentax. There are several reasons, but this is one of them.

As I stated earlier I handed my K20d to SRS to repair my sd card spring/lock mechanism, which was on Saturday 13th, and it would have been sent on monday the 15th and arrived yesterday (23rd). So taking to 2 days off for delivery time from SRS and then back from SRS to me thats 5 working days, which is their target and me very happy. Now I just need some sunny weather to use it...

My lens went to Germany, they couldn't repair it in the UK.

I tried searching the site, is there a list for UK repairers?
Ive seen a few sites around that can do cameras and lenses, but ponderer how to verify them,
other than just customer feedback, which can sometimes be faked, both ways.

Friend mentioned this site years ago, and saw them on Google, but thought id see what you guys thought about couriers.
Anything other places generally recommend not mentioned already in the thread??

There are quite a few specialists, Johnson's photopia who carry out Pentax warranty repairs, Harrow Technical and Asahi Photo

Good to hear Ken, and timely too as I've just seen my package delivery status switch to delivered.

I took the decision to box up and send my K-30 back for repair with the sticking aperture motor problem. Hopefully there is a quick turnaround on that. I too have the latest firmware installed already
