I think you should be fine with PSE4 but you will have to check that the Pentax codec is compatible with it (PSE5 is) and download and install that.

Pentax Photo Lab can produce good quality results, but its user interface and number of features is poor compared to better programs such as Silkypix Developer Studio.
Pentax Browser is worth using sometimes (I like the way it displays Exif info), but there are easier-to-use programs for quick browsing, such as Irfanview (free).
Note that online updates are available for both Lab and Browser. These fix a few bugs and add support for the latest cameras and lenses. If you want to try these programs, install them from the CD, then download and install the updates from the Pentax website.

ps. Sorry I just noticed that you don't have the software CD.
I'd say it's not worth seeking out, but I can send you a copy if you're interested - for the cost of blank disc & postage.

Hi Blincodave.
When I moved from DS to the K10 I didnt bother installing the software.
I still use PSE 4.0 for storing/calaloguing/editing pictures. Make sure you have the latest version of ACR installed (it is free) that is compatible for the K10. You wont be able to use the PSE raw converter otherwise.
I however use Silkypix for raw conversion, cropping and downsizing to jpeg. Only if I want to do selective editing on part of the image do I use PSE as well.
So yes PSE 4.0 works very well.
