Pentax MX, light meter.

Hello everyone

It is my first post here so "big hello" to all PENTAX users.

I came here with a question about MX light meter. I'm not sure if it is normal but a guy who I bout MX from said that it is normal, the thing is that depending on the film sensitivity the light meter is not working. For example is if set ASA 400, the light meter works only for shutter speeds 1/1000-1/4s...if I set ASA 200 the light meter works for 1/1000s-1/2s, for ASA 100 it works for all shutter speeds and so on...

If it is not a camera failure, can anyone tell me plz what are these limitations for ??

It is to do with the sensitivity range of the light meter. It is only designed to work in the range EV1-19. The figures you mention are outside this. If you want a copy of the manual, you can download it here www.pentax-manuals.com.
