Pentax mini slave unit

I have a K10D and a Jessops 360AFDP gun. Have just joined the User Group and got the mini slave gun intro offer. Anyone know how I can make this work?

Apologies if such a question has been asked before. I did search the many postings on here to no avail. Mind I did learn loads in the process and have been well impressed with the knowledge and experience of you all!

The Pentax mini slave flash will only slave to a single flash. I'm not sure about the Jessops gun you have - but if it's P-TTL it won't work... at least not in P-TTL.

If you main gun has "A" or "M" mode then these modes will trigger the remote slave. You are best putting the camera in "M" mode, put the Jessops flash in "M" mode (if possible) and adjust appropriately.

The Pentax Xtra Flash is a slave flash. It is triggered by the light from another flash, like the onboard flash. The problem with it is that it is not pre-flash aware, which is what the onboard flash uses to determine flash output for correct exposure.

If your Jessops gun does not use a pre-flash system, just turn on the Xtra flash and site it where you want it to contribute light to the scene. When the main flash fires, the Xtra flash will also fire.

Many thanks guys for your quick and friendly responses. I just hadn't thought about manual! Not so long back we always set flashguns/cameras to work manually. The joy of cameras like the K10D is that we can still go back to full manual control. It will be worth the experimenting just to get that extra creative lighting which the little slave unit offers.
