can you explain what you mean by "noisy"?
Still shooting in the dark (literally and metaphorically)...

Are you not just hearing the sensor moving and the mirror going back down as you take the picture?
If you take the lens off and put the camera into live view you might be amazed at just how much movement the sensor makes.

What I mean is the kx that I have is noisy to the km and the k7 I have but when I first got the camera it seemed to be so noisy I went back to the shop and asked them was there a fault with it?, and they tested it with one of the other kxs in the shop and said no its just the way it’s made.
But saying that it seems to of gone a bit quit now
That English enough for you lol

I am new to the art of photography and have had a K-x for around 6 months now. Looking to get a Pentax 50-200mm f4-5.6 SMC DA ED Lens telephoto lens for wildlife photography. I am looking at the following teleconverter and can't find out if I will retain autofocus.:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pentax-AF-K-Fit-2x-Tele-Converter-K7-K20D-KX-K10D-etc-/180... or not?
Any help will be really appreciated as I am on a very limited budget.

To be honest it isn't advisable to use a 2x TC unless with a very good lens and those or often prime lenses (fixed focal length/no zoom).
So you come back at the very expensive Pentax 1.7x TC or some 1.4x TC Kenko and tamron still made those i believe.
For the DA 50-200 i wouldn't advise to use a TC at all, better to spend a bit more money and get a Pentax DA or DAL 55-300

Only 4 elements which is low for a 2x (usually 7 elements).
It seems to have AF though which is rare.
As Stefan said you would be better off with the 55-300mm
SRS have some on offer at present.

Sadly it doesn't have the powerzoom/SDM contacts
There is also a 7 elements one.
Bower also have 2 2x tc 4 and 7 elements but they do have the PZ contacts.
Anyone know if they work?

Hi Stefan, I think Bower and the New Vivitar are the same Company.
Most of their stuff is re-badged anyway.
Someone else makes a 1.7x TC.

Maybe but the Bower has the PZ contacts and Vivitar don't so they are at least different.

Thank everyone. 55-300 it is. My mind, but more importantly, my wallet is at ease.
