Pentax KF

Well regardless of the perceived improvement in the new K70 updated version because of component shortages and probably no other reason in that, they had no other choice.
I am so glad that i purchased my own k70 from SRS for the princely sum of £399 brand new in January 2019.
I hope not to curse it but aperture block is only highlighted by the people it happens too, and that would be a tiny proportion of k70 owners that might be rattling off photos in rapid modes for extended periods, filling the buffer on a constant basis and expecting every single model to be able for that continuous abuse. I prefer a gentle approach with entry level equipment.

From my experience in having suffered from the failure of my K70 aperture solenoid it is actually light use that made the problem worse. After about 3 years if I hadn't used the camera for a few weeks then the solenoid would start to stick and the only way to get it to function was use continuous shooting mode, something I never did before. The problem then progressively got worse until I replaced the "green" solenoid with a "white" one.

Oh sugar, you mean to tell me PRY, that its the same issue as in the older SDM lenses, that is in the body of the K70.

Just to add a bit of context, my K70 performs very well indeed and my secondhand da200* is top notch and very much older second hand purchase of a da50 135* performs perfectly even if left for six months or more.
i know this because of my newer K1 which i could not leave down.
On the other hand for balance purposes, My brand new 16 50* (older SDM model) later that year 2019 sadly packed up its SDM drive about !8 months later.
Now you could be onto something also PRY because i attached the same lens 16 50* that was a dead SDM to my K1ii and guess what, it slowly started to wake up and i mean very slowly and by the end of the day the lens was performing adequately for my purposes, i never revealed this as im sure plenty have tried this long before myself.
But you do have me wondering Note to myself give my K70 ago more often than not

When taking into account the age of the K-70 (over six years) I'd say that the KF is a very disappointing release. The upgrades are very minor and, as has already been stated, were mostly due to availability rather than Ricoh choosing to make a better camera. I think with a little effort they could have included more improvements for very little extra cost and that would have sat better with prospective buyers as they'd feel they were getting more for that price hike.

Obviously the big thing would be the fixing of the dodgy solenoids but Pentax will never mention that as it would involve acknowledging the problem.
