Pentax K-x Congratulations!

I monitor such sites like amazon.com for certain deals both computer and photo-related. I find it a good starting point when I am interested in something, and generally check it twice a day.

Well, this evening I noticed in the sidebar that shows what the top selling cameras are on amazon, the Pentax K-x came in for the first time as number five. Outside of various Canon and Nikon models, this has to be a first in at least 4 months in which I have has this sidebar displaying. I have never seen any other brands in the top 5 or 10. So apparently the word must be getting out as to the brand and this model. Sadly, the K7 is not even showing in the top 100, but that could be a different story there.

So congratulations to the Pentax K-x and their users.

Looks like Pentax's marketing strategy worked out for once! (ie. don't do any, and hope the product is good enough to sell itself)...

It's actually even better than that, the K-x is in the chart on more than one occasion. In the top 25 you have:

#5. K-x twin lens kit (black)
#17. K-x single lens kit (black)
#22. K-x single lens kit (white)

And then in the top 100 there are other variations of lens and body colour combos, all listed as seperate entities. If you were to add all of these together I'd imagine the K-x is probably the biggest selling SLR that Pentax have had on their hands for many, many years.
