That's quite an essential bit, so why not phone round the repair houses to see if anyone has the part you need?

I have the 110 sitting around... and the battery holder is not the strongest part of the camera
I'll probably be able to take some shots of how it fits in - but from memory I don't think there's much you can do without it

thanks for your help I rang Asahi Photo and they will have a look and ring me back
so keeping me fingers crossed, Harrow Technical don't seem to deal with the 110.
just seems a shame a camera is defunct for the want of a battery holder the camera seems in good condition but unless I can get batteries in there I cannot tell if its ok. I just need someone who has a broken camera but with a battery holder.
I will keep looking

There is a camera fair near Derby this weekend, so it might be worth a visit there if you are close enough.

Just had a look at mine and I think you'll find the batteries will fit in just fine without the little holder as all the connection/conductors are in the camera body not the holder, they're just a bit more tricky to get back out.
Holder looks like this:

It probably would. Cut a small bit of plastic off something and slip it in between them. K.

Thanks for your help eveyone I put the batteries in as suggested by crossed up

Yes, it would matter if they touch, but the compartment is actually shaped to keep the cells separated. The recess follows the shape of the bottom holder, so each cell actually sits in a little semicircular trough.

Glad to see this thread! My recently acquired full 110 kit has the same problem with the camera. Now if I can get the winder battery cover fixed or replaced or....

I've just recently acquired a Pentax auto 110 with the similar problem only the battery compartment is shattered. I've seen that this is a common problem but can anyone tell me if it still usable even with the damage?

There's only one way to find out! But if you post a picture of the damage it might help us offer any helpful suggestions we might have.
