Probably a good sign! Let's hope the staff are made aware that these cameras are (more than?) a match than the Canikons they usually peddle.

Jessops have regular visits of product/manufacturer "representatives" that try to "educate"/convince staff why ie. N i better than C, etc, as well as bring propaganda materials. Pentax would need to fight on this field as well...

I've noticed that PC World are selling some Pentax stuff as well. I got a DFA 100mm F2.8 Macro lens from their website for £249, nearly half the price of some other retailers.

Just having them in the shop for a side by side comparison is a good first step. Pick up a Pentax and you can feel the difference. (Well, I can!) Pictures on a web-site are more difficult to differentiate.

As far as I can see they aren't 'in the shop', internet only.

I work at Jessops, and am not aware of Pentax being back on the books! I'd be pleased to hear that they are, mind - I recently bought my K-5 from another dealer...........

Welcome to the forum! I hope you won't take any denigration of Jessops on this forum too seriously, it's generally just tongue in cheek 'mock outrage'

I was going to rant about Jessops, but I could'nt be bothered.
They were great once, but no more. Now they try and sell Canon or Sony gear to anyone and everyone. (this is not a rant, I could write a lot about Jessops)
However, they are STILL a big presence on the high street (in spite of everything) and people who have no idea about photography will go there first. So, any sort of Pentax presence will be a bonus in spite of everything.
Interesting thing with their web site though. DSLR's are mentioned, but not lenses (and I mean the non-bundled stuff)
On another aspect. Curry's in Manchester DO have a couple of togs who sell gear. As an example, a chinese girl was in the shop the other week looking at a DSLR at the same time I was there, looking at the K-7 and D90. She wanted to know which was better. Being a Pentaxian I could not resist, and in the discussion with myself, the currys guy (who is a Canon user) and the girl, I advised that the K-7 was better than the D90 in so many ways, yet advised the very small number of D90 advantages.
In the end whe was impressed with the K-7 and I think ended up buying it.
consequence to the chat the Currys guy said "thank you" for my help and it was a genuine thanks rather than a sarcastic remark.

What condition was it in? I ordered the same from Currys who are part of the same group as PC World and Dixons. I tracked the parcel which went from Lincoln to my local DHL in less than 12 hrs, then it was held there going nowhere for five days until I went and collected it myself. When I got home I had a pretty nasty surprise. I unpacked the parcel to find a tatty box with a printed red label on it that read "box for display item" and another label stating "returned." The lens itself was marked, looked far from brand new and had no lens cap. I returned it via my nearest Currys for a refund and won't buy from them again.

Don't forget, Dixons was once a great camera shop. Although admittidly, that was in the 30s and 40s!
Jessops are claiming that the gear is either in 'In Stock for Home Delivery' or 'Collect In Store'. It may be a deal where Pentax won't release them until Jessops have paid for them. Even if they only sell a handful it still benefits Jessops to have them available.

Or they might have been starting selling them a little while ago and I just didn't notice!
I bought my *stDL2 from them 5 years ago but have only been in again for bits and bobs since (printer paper, lens blower etc).
I am planning to upgrade to a KR in December but will of course be going to SRS - quite a bit cheaper than Jessops at the moment.
