Pentax are becoming Huge in Europe

I hope this goes some way towards helping Pentax to knock the Hoya merger on the head. Although I've nothing but instinct to go on I am always uneasy about what happens to the junior partner in a merger. If anyone has solid information to the contrary I'm happy to stand corrected. For now I'd rather see Pentax remain the masters of their own fate.

Don't Hoya want to sell off Pentax's camera business and keep the lens dept?

That is exactly my concern. Asset-strippers don't care what damage they do.

Hello..
Just thought I would share this little tidbit of info with you. I spoke with my "Guy" at Pentax and we starting doing some small talk. You know that standard stuff. I asked "So, how's business?" I got, we are selling extremely well everywhere in Europe and especially in Germany, France, England and Holland. In fact what is happening is beyond anything they ever expected to sell...
Perhaps one of the reasons for the shortages.

Not that I need one now but I was checking K10D prices in Munich on Friday. Although they are more expensive there than they are in the UK, about 620-650 GBP equiv. body only, the kit is 959-969 EUR, I saw the Samsung GX-10 kit for 969 everywhere Hello..

The main shop in Munich on Sonnenstrasse (Sauter) has a good selection of Pentax stuff in all the time, and their s/h selection is pretty good (SMC-M 50mm f1.4 for about 79 EUR)...
Glad to see Pentax getting their profile up. My friend who bought my *ist DL loves the camera, her EOS 20D infuriates her.
