desporatly need HELP on s5z (lenses stuck)

Hello all

For some weird reason my camera lenses stopped retracting and the camera is stuck on this position. Removing the battery and reinsering it does nothing. The only thing that I can do is to press the menu + power button this turns on the screen and gives me ver 1.00. if I press any “wrong” button the camera turns off.

1. Is there a secrect key combination that will some how reset the camera.

2. Also where do I download the firmware. I’me sure that “ver 1.00” should allaw me to upgrade the firmware. Maybe it got corrupted.

3. Does this camera share the same firmware with another casio camera. I heard its close to ex750. My thinking is that I might be able use its firmware since they are readly available online


We do not have a Pentax agency around here. I would appreciate any help or link I can get

I found this on another forum (depressing review):

With the camera off hold the play button down whilst turning the power on.

This should put the camera in play mode. Do a camera reset in the menu.

If no luck, take the batterie(s) out for at least 3 hours and try to run the camera on again.
Make sure the batterie(s) are fully charged.

i removed the battery for 12 hours nce..no differnce

it will not let me go into view mode
