Now it's not often I am able to correct Matt, in fact, never so far. On this occasion however I feel I must

"No problemo" is an often quoted phrase coined by Arnie in one of the Terminator series of films. It is nevertheless incorrect because the word problemo does not exist in the Spanish language. Arnie should have brushed up on his Spanish beforehand and if he had done so, he'd have said "No problema".

I am tempted by the Tamron, as it is still very good value at well under £50 delivered. Still over £100 most places.
It is heavier, but then again I am seriously considering a 70-200 f2.8 instead of the 50-135 so it'd still be my lightweight option, plus it'll have that extra reach. By the sounds of it, it'll be some time til they get more Pentax stock if at all !

Looking around at reviews it does seem to suffer from CA quite a bit in the usual conditions, but as I only shoot raw I'll have an opportunity to reduce/remove it. On the plus side there are some very nice images from it on flickr & Photosig (plus the usual tat)

I think we might both be right though, but I can't recall yet which episode the "APE" came from. One of my work pals is working her way through the DVDs so I've asked her to look out.

Can't lay my hands on my "Complete Fawlty Towers" so maybe I should pick up my K10D Manual for a bit. I think I know the first better than the second, so some K10 reading is due!


Thanks for your links a while ago for EXIF readers. I wondered if you knew of any similar for extracting the embedded jpegs (640x480) from image files.

Yes, I think you might be right - we're both right
The quote I had in mind was actually Sybil in "A Touch of Class". Basil repeats the phrase, and you're probably right he used it later in another episode... that's a lot of script to get though

There is software for extracting the JPG from PEF files... not quite sure where it is right now (I think Dan here has used the software). ExifTool was one I just Googled... (looked for "extract embedded Jpg from raw")
