Out of the pancake lenses - which one do you prefer? Which one is typically most popular?

The 40mm is a lousy focal length on digital; the 21mm is barely any better optically than the FA 20mm (and slower), and the 70mm is good, but not as good as the 77mm.

So I don't have any of them.

But if I were to get one, it would be the 21mm.

I have the DA 40 which I like very much. At first I had to take a couple of steps back between spotting a picture and then looking through the camera! It's a fine lens.

I have the 21/40/70. Day to day I use the 40 mainly, the 70 next. For the Swiss British Classic Car meeting http://homepage.mac.com/stevenbutterworth/Sites/index.html - I use almost entirely the 21 - each one has their use, and to be honest I am happy with all of them. They may not be the fastest or most exclusive, but what counts is the end result, I cannot complain.

For wide I use the 20/2.8A, the 43 Ltd for medium and the 77 Ltd for slightly longer. I find the wider apertures help with manual focussing and all will also work on the film bodies so I will not be tempted, certainly at UK prices.
