Like what you have done here Smeggy. Can you explain it. I like the apparent sheen to the hair and face. Eyes a little too white for me. But il let you off,,,lol As it was only a quick edit...

Difficult to explain in words but around 11 or 12 local adjustment brushes ( dodgings and burnings ) of varying amounts of exposure changes and contrast changes on various zones on both the background and the subject. Plus a bit of shadow boosting and highlight reduction over all.

All done in lightroom

and yes you're right about they eyes

My only critique on the model is that she needs to a exude a bit of a glint in her expression. She looks a little dead pan. Very striking hair though which goes great with the coat

It's a very good shot. Given the level of experience of the model and photographer, it's way above what beginners generally do.

Keep on going.

Stuart, looks like you did vey well despite your reservations. I like the use of the fence rail.

My only feedback is next time try and get some catchlights in the eyes as this will help bring the portrait alive, you can use a reflector or flash for this.

Smeggypants has done a nice quick edit, but the eyes in my opinion are to white for my liking, but toning down some of the highlights works well.

Stuart, you should be really pleased with this image, like Yves says, "it's way above what beginners generally do" I look forward to seeing more.

Good effort all round. I'd be interested to know which of the lenses you listed was used for this image.

Thank you guys for your input on my image. It really does give encouragement. I already want to get out and try this again. I agree that the image would have benefitted from more fill in light. The fact that I had flash or reflector with me and didn't use. Just about shows my inexperience in this field.
