Welcome, Neil
Congrats on your new K200D. My experience is that you get quite a few shots out of 4 x 2500 mAh NiMn rechargeables - battery grip is not essential. The Sanyo Eneloop batteries are said to have a good storage life.

The battery will last for perhaps 600 shots. That's the equivalent of nearly 17 rolls of film. Why on earth do you need a battery grip? Trying to build bigger biceps? When you can get the battery grip to go with it to extend the battery life.
Enjoy

Welcome to the fora. Have fun, and post some pics when you get the chance. Don't neglect your Super A though (if you still have it), a fine camera and yes, do try your 50mm on the new camera, you'll like the results!
Cheers, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Re: batteries on the K200 I have good success with the Recycko batteries (same chemistry and design to the Eneloop ones - no idea if they are better or worse, I doubt it) which are more than enough for several days worth of heavy shooting and if I really need the lifespan dropping in one use lithium ones should give you in the ball park of a thousand shots.
I wouldn't use standard NiMh/NiCd batteries in it if you leave the camera with the batteries in (not from any risk of leaking though there is that) but just for it always being good to pick up and go shoot with.

Depends on how sentimentally attached you are to it (second hand ones are cheap) but it can be fixed easily enough. Harrow Technical do a good job on all my cameras.Hi Kris.

It was a suggestion only as gtis might be using his new camera for Weddings etc and therefore would help him. It's better than searching for a 2nd set of batteries in the middle of a shoot and looking a prat instead of a pro.ttk wrote:

I take it that you don't use a grip? as you have small biceps?
